My approach

Psychotherapy recognises the important link between between the psychological and spiritual aspects of healing and our self development. The embodied aspect is learning how to feel connected to our body and developing the capacity to tolerate the feelings and sensations. I strongly believe in the inner resources we all carry within and work towards helping you to feel safe enough to step into your innate capacity for love and inner strength.

Part of the therapy process is learning how to feel into your body, to move through some of your most hidden and shadowed parts of your psyche. Therapy attempts to assist in integrating the traumatised parts of self to develop a greater sense of cohesion and to work towards self regulation. Developing a greater capacity for mindfulness of our experiences and to become more open to deeper connections with our selves and our relationships.

Therapy is very much based on working towards greater self awareness and finding who we are underneath the stories we have been told or learnt through our experiences. It helps us to untangle emotionally from toxic beliefs and views we hold about ourselves as well as the often negative self talk so we can be more free and whole in our sense of self.

Therapy is a powerful process and while it can be challenging, it is also one of the most rewarding and life changing things we can do for ourselves. Learning how you may be living your life from a sense of fear and survival, you can move towards a more open, free and enlivened sense of being in the world. Enabling you to change how you experience your self to live a more meaningful and connected life.
