Life Challenges

We live in an ever-changing and unpredictable environment; there is no wonder why we sometimes struggle to keep up. Our psyche is built in a way where we believe we can control most of the things that happen to us; but reality shows a very different picture, there are so many things we have absolute no control over …

The only aspect of life that we do have some control over is in the way we react to what we perceive, we cannot control what happens, but we can work on our experience and feelings towards it. We can make changes in our own lives and the relationships we have with those around us so we are able to live a richer and more fulfilling life.

The challenges that life places before us are much more easily handled when we have more resilience and the reflective capacity to observe our inner dialogue and normal response patterns. All of us have repressed aspects of our self that we attempt to hide from the world and ourselves, much of the work in Psychotherapy is developing the courage and fortitude to confront our deepest wounds and fears so well hidden and protected.

By understanding the early patterns that set up the way we interpret and respond to the world around us is part of the challenge and reward of this journey to self awareness. Psychotherapy is not only for the traumatised or mentally unwell, its a practice that helps us work towards getting the most out of all our lived experiences and to develop healthy relationships with self and others. It also enriches our inner world and helps develop a deeper spiritual awareness around ourselves and the important relationships in our lives.
