Counselling

Counselling and psychotherapy hold many things in common and in some respects are the same thing. The difference is that psychotherapy focuses much more on understanding the depths of our unconscious, trauma, attachment etc. For short term work such as working through some of life challenges counselling and mindfulness can assist in being able to make sense of certain challenges that we come up against in the moment.

These shorter term counselling sessions focus more on addressing the issues at hand and being able to work through the emotional and decisional aspects that these challenges bring to us. It utilises the many internalised resources we already have built inside us to talk through and make sense of what we are feeling. Booking in for a counselling session is the same process but the focus is more on working together to understand the current challenges rather than prodding too deeply into the unconscious.
